Once Upon A Time Season 6: Details Of Robin Hood’s Return To Storybrooke; How Will Regina React?

After his sudden and heartbreaking death, Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) will return in Season 6 of Once Upon A Time. And while the general reaction to the announcement was ecstatic, plenty of questions arise.

How will the return of the fan-favorite character happen? The people behind the show revealed a bit more details about the anticipated arrival of Robin Hood in Storybrooke.

Show co-creator, Edward Kitsis, explained earlier this year that, this time around, the heroes of the fairy tale land will not journey to the Underworld to retrieve Robin Hood. That means, despite the announcement that the character will appear in the current season, he will remain, for the most part, dead. Plenty of fans speculated that, perhaps, he will be in flashbacks. But recent details confirm that this will not be the case.

“It’s definitely not just him in flashbacks, we can guarantee that,” Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly. Moreover, show co-creator, Adam Horowitz, added that Maguire will not be in just one scene.

“It’s multiple episodes, it’s not just in flashback, but it’s not necessarily what you’d expect,” the screenwriter shared. “How he integrates into the story, we want to keep a surprise and unexpected. It’s an important part of the main story once it happens.”

Meanwhile, Lara Parilla, who plays Regina, talked about Robin Hood’s reemergence in Storybrooke. The actress is excited by Maguire’s return to Once Upon A Time. But she does not know how her characters, Regina and the Evil Queen, will react to her lover’s (possible) resurrection, according to her interview in TV Guide.
“That’s going to be interesting because wasn’t he both of their lovers?” She also added that, then, there is also Zelena (Rebecca Mader) and the baby. “It’s like Robin Hood has three women after him,” Parilla said.

Once Upon A Time airs every Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
