Gospel Music Channel
TV Network
Gospel Music Channel™ is the first 24/7 advertiser-supported cable television network dedicated to the rich history and contemporary sounds of gospel music, its many styles and artists. From the soulful sounds of CeCe Winans and Donnie McClurkin to the country roots of Johnny Cash and Randy Travis, to the contemporary stylings of Kirk Franklin, Third Day, and Michael W. Smith, Gospel Music Channel was formed to entertain, inspire, and uplift its audience… celebrating music that has a deep, spiritual place in people's lives.
Prominent cable industry executives Charles Humbard, former senior vice president and general manager of Discovery Networks, who founded the network, and Brad Siegel, former president of Turner Entertainment Networks, came together in April 2004. The two television veterans saw an opportunity to serve a large and passionate fan base for one of the fastest-growing segments in the music industry. Humbard, son of pioneering television minister Rex Humbard, began his career writing, performing, and producing gospel music for Rex Humbard Worldwide Ministries, and later was responsible for the development and operations of Discovery International Networks and the launch of Discovery's six nationally-distributed digital channels, including Discovery Health, Science, and Discovery HD Theater. Siegel, as president of Turner Entertainment Networks, was responsible for TBS Superstation, Turner Network Television (TNT), Cartoon Network, Turner South, and Boomerang, as well as the development and launch of Turner Classic Movies (TCM) and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
InterMedia Partners VII, L.P., a private investment firm specializing in equity investments in media and entertainment companies, primarily in the United States, is financing Gospel Music Channel. For more information visit GospelMusicChannel.com.

“Throughout my career, I’ve had wonderful opportunities to create and launch of a number of successful cable networks that satisfied the needs of a specific target audience. With more than 80 percent of Americans identifying themselves as Christians, and with the incredible talent and quality in today’s gospel music industry, the creation of a music television network devoted to all styles of gospel and Christian music was long overdue.”— Brad Siegel
